I have come across some interesting photovoltaic technology which could be useful for the project.
A German company called Schott are now producing solar film to be placed on glass, allowing you to see through it! Performance factors include reducing thermal heat transmission by 90% while generating energy for immediate use, or stored in batteries. Considering power and operation of the facility will be a significant cost issue, I am considering using solar energy to operate a number of the building's systems, including: water pumps, lighting and basic electricity for computers.
